Motel Policy

Reservations

All reservations must include the correct number of guests staying (including all children).
All reservations require a current and valid credit card (a debit card is not acceptable) and the guest’s full name, contact telephone number and email address.
Owens Motel reserves the right to pre-authorize or take part or full payment from the card provided at any time. If a credit card is declined during either of these processes the reservation will be cancelled.
Owens Motel reserves the right to decline or cancel any reservation at any stage.
Reservations made via a third-party site (Expedia, Booking.com etc.) are subject to the terms and conditions listed on that site. Changes and cancellations to reservations that are made via such third-party sites must be made via that same third-party site.
We always recommend travel insurance to cover unexpected circumstances.

Cancellation

Cancellation of booking made directly with us, must be made 48 hours before arrival on your first day of stay. Otherwise, a minimal 2 night’s room charge will be taken from credit card.
The cancellation period may change based on event.
Cancellations made via a third-party site (Expedia, Booking.com etc.) are subject to the terms and conditions listed on that site. We cannot cancel these bookings or make changes.

Payment

All room payment must be paid before check in unless it has been arranged with motel manager. Owens Motel accepts eftpos and the following major credit cards: MasterCard, Visa.
Please note that customers paying via credit card and payWave will incur a surcharge of 2.5%. We do offer alternative forms of payment such as Cash, Eftpos or Online banking.
If you are arriving after office hours without prior notification, Owens Motel reserves the right to charge your credit card for the full amount of the room charges before the late night arrival process can be finalized.

Children

We welcome families. All infants and children must be included in the number of people staying. Children and infants are charged the same as an adult.

Pet Policy

We welcome your furry friends, subject to a stander pet fee of NZD $30 pre stay and ask you to follow these guidelines:

Pets must always be on a leash or in a carrier when outside your room.
Pets are not to be left unattended in your room at any time.Toileting on motel grounds is not allowed.
Pets are not allowed on beds or furniture; please bring appropriate bedding for your pet.
If you're bringing a cat, you must provide a litter box.

Check in and Check out

Check-in is available from 14:00 pm - 20:00pm on the day of arrival. However, should you arrive earlier, luggage storage is available.
Check-out time is 10am on the day of departure. Early check-in and/or late check-out is by arrangement directly with the guest and subject to availability.

Smoking

Smoking is NOT permitted in any of the rooms.
Guests can smoke outside away from doorways and open windows.
If smoking occurs within the rooms, motel management reserves the right to charge specialist cleaning costs, and any resulting loss of income.

Visitors

Visitors are welcome but are not permitted on the premises after 10pm.
Parties and noisy gatherings are not permitted at the Owens Motel.
Motel management reserves the right to terminate the stay of any guest that does not comply to this rule.

No Cooking of any seafood

No cooking of any seafood in any room owing to the residual odors. We reserve the right to charge for any loss of income as a result of having to treat such events.
